The environmental value of the protected landscape Bertiandos and S. Pedro d'Arcos Ponds, nationally and internationally recognized, was the starting point for an entire investment dynamic, that resulted in a set of infrastructure and services.
In this area it is possible to highlight the existence of an interesting mosaic of habitats, from wetlands, to drier lands, natural vegetation forests, pastures and agricultural areas, developing over a permanent lacustrine system, irrigated by natural canals and crossed by Estorãos River, displaying considerable diversity and landscape originality.
